CUSTOM CANOPY

Isozaki Tower Milano

ISOZAKI TOWER, MILANO

Custom Canopy

Location: Milano
Year of realization: 2015-16
Area: 40 m2

personalized canopy with steel supporting structure and mirror stainless steel coating with rhomboid geometries.

Thanks to the custom-made sheet metal cladding, mirror effect, the canopy becomes an extension of the double-height entrance hall with the same type of false ceiling.

The Citylife project is the first skyscraper project in Milan, the Isozaki tower, designed by the well-known Japanese architect Maffei, also holds the first highest roof in Italy.

Nicknamed “Straight”, with its 50 floors it reaches 249 meters in height, the tower hosts Milan offices of the Allianz insurance group. It is a tower with a very elegant profile; with its slender shape it seems to project itself towards the sky.
The façade is punctuated by a sequence of eight modules of six floors and is composed of a double glass skin of a shape just rounded outwards. This vertical succession creates a feeling of vibration of the entire volume. Not even the entrance canopy interrupts this perception. The design of the latter has been repeatedly revised to find the correct shape and finish.

Thanks to the custom-made sheet metal cladding, mirror effect, the canopy becomes an extension of the double-height entrance hall with the same type of false ceiling.

The specialization in the field of metal carpentry and in the executive design of the façade has allowed to obtain a high result for the building envelope.
